The Studio

 

Kimberly Main Studios is a board-certified medical and biological illustration studio focusing on creating visual solutions disseminating complex medical and scientific information.

The studio works with researchers, physicians, creative directors, and publishers. It provides a fresh approach to the visual interpretation of complex topics for all aspects of the sciences and medicine. We specialize in both traditional and digital media.

In addition to extensive training in watercolor, graphite, pen and ink, and colored pencils, Kimberly Main Studios is proficient using applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash (actionScript3), and JavaScript.

Our visual solutions are used for websites, surgical and scientific textbooks, medical journals, and patient education materials.

Artwork in the portfolio galleries that is owned by the studio may be relicensed for a fee. If you have any questions or a specific request, feel free to contact the studio.

Kimberly Main Studios was founded in 2006 by Kimberly Main Knoper. Kimberly Main Knoper is a full-time Senior Medical Illustrator for the New England Journal of Medicine and is available to participate in other illustration projects on a time-available basis. She is a board-certified medical illustrator as well as a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators.

Kim earned her Master of Arts degree in Medical and Biological Illustration from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus in Illustration from Grand Valley State University.
